Ferrara and Comacchio
Ferrara and Comacchio represent two examples of the historical, cultural and gastronomic excellence of Emilia-Romagna. Surrounded by a 6th-century city wall constructed by byzantines, Ferrara encloses beautiful buildings from different ages and built in several architectural styles. The Castello Estense, the Cattedrale di San Giorgio Martire and Palazzo dei Diamanti are just a few examples of what you can find walking along the city streets, stopping from time to time to taste some of Ferrara specialties: Cappellacci di Zucca, Pasticcio di Maccheroni or the Torta Tenerina. A few kilometers away, we can find Comacchio, the “little Venice”, a lagoon city famous for its eels, traditional dish prepared in various ways.
